Teriberka is a village on the Barents Sea with limited accommodation: guesthouses, small lodges and cabins that book up fast. The old village near the river mouth is closest to the ocean, the ship graveyard, the boulder beach and the waterfall. The newer part, Lodeynoye, sits by the road inland, with shops and parking, a few kilometres from the sea. Staying overnight gives more chances to see northern lights.
Northern lights appear roughly from September to March on clear nights. Summer brings the polar day. Rooms are scarce on holidays.
A paved road crosses 130 km of tundra from Murmansk, a 2.5–3 hour drive, with buses too; it can close in winter storms. Murmansk has flights and trains.
