Where to stay
Lazarevskoye is Sochi's northernmost district, a resort village with its own life. The centre around the main beach has the promenade, a water park, a market and late-night cafes: convenient but loud in summer. Higher up the hillsides streets are quieter but the walk to the sea is longer. Smaller villages along the coast, such as Soloniki, Vardane, Ashe and Golovinka, have less crowded pebble beaches and guesthouses, good for families.
When to go
The season runs from June to September, peaking in July and August. June and September are quieter. In winter many guesthouses close.
Getting there
Long-distance trains stop here, and Lastochka trains run to Sochi, Adler and Tuapse. The nearest airport is Sochi in Adler.
