Lago-Naki is a high plateau of alpine meadows and caves on the Adygea border. The closest lodges sit at the top of the road, by Azish-Tau pass and the reserve checkpoint, handy for morning hikes and winter snow. Dakhovskaya village in the Belaya valley has shops, cafes and guesthouses and works as a base for the plateau, the Granite Canyon and Kamennomostsky. Further upriver, Khamyshki and Guzeripl offer forest quiet and rafting bases at the edge of the Caucasus reserve.
Summer and early autumn are for hiking; meadows bloom in early summer. Snow can come in October, and winter brings gentle slopes, snowshoes and sled dogs.
From Maykop it is about 1.5 hours by car via Dakhovskaya and a paved mountain road. Krasnodar has the nearest airport; Maykop has no passenger flights.
