Central Grozny is compact and modern, and most visitors stay there. Key landmarks are the Heart of Chechnya Mosque, the Grozny City towers and the Sunzha embankment with parks and promenades, all walkable. Many use the city as a base for trips to Lake Kezenoyam, the Argun gorge and old towers, one to two and a half hours away. Modest dress is expected in public.
