Where to stay
Adler is Sochi's southernmost district and handy for anyone arriving by air. Central Adler has the promenade, cafes and pebble beaches, busy and loud all summer. Kurortny Gorodok, closer to the airport and the Mzymta river mouth, is a greener area of sanatoriums, slightly calmer. Further south, the Imeretinskaya lowland with Olympic Park and Sirius has new districts and a long flat promenade, good for families and trips to Krasnaya Polyana.
When to go
Swimming lasts from June to October, warmest in August and September. In winter many stay here to ski at Krasnaya Polyana.
Getting there
Sochi airport is in Adler itself. Long-distance trains arrive at Adler and Olympic Park stations; Lastochka trains run along the coast and up to Rosa Khutor.
